The Farmers Market has proudly served this community for more than 30 years, growing into a long-standing tradition rooted in service, connection, and local support. From the beginning, the market was created not just as a place to shop, but as a way to give back to the community it serves.
Our mission aligns with the Lions’ international motto, “We Serve.” Proceeds from the market are reinvested directly into the community, helping individuals and families who may otherwise fall through the cracks. This includes support such as providing eyeglasses to those in need, partnering with organizations like Volunteers in Medicine, and helping fund warming and cooling centers during periods of extreme weather.
In addition to direct assistance, the market supports long-term community improvements, including projects like the Braille Trail at McNair Park, the inclusive playground at Jaycee Park, and Little Free Libraries throughout the area. These initiatives reflect our commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and community enrichment.
What truly sets this market apart is its dedication to local small businesses. Many of our vendors are family-owned, “mom and pop” operations who rely on the market as an affordable and welcoming way to establish a presence. Several vendors have even used the market as a springboard to open successful brick-and-mortar storefronts, which is one of our greatest points of pride.
